The withdrawal straightening machine has multiple functions in continuous casting production, mainly including balancing the casting slab sliding force, keeping the billet pulling speed, feeding the dummy bar and straightening the casting slab.
1. Balance the casting billet sliding force. In the continuous casting process, the casting billet has the sliding force due to the high potential energy. The upper and down rollers of the pull straightening machine will hold the casting billet t to prevent it from sliding and maintain continuous production. For example, for a R16m casting machine to produce φ600mm round billet, the sliding force can reach 35 tons, multiple pull straighteners are required to balance this force.
2. Constant casting speed: The drive roller of the pulling straightener is controlled by the frequency converter-motor-reducer to keep constant casting speed and make sure the stable and continuous production.
3. Feed ingot rod: The pull straightening machine feeds the dummy bar into the mold ready for starting cast. The billet head is connected to the dummy bar through the connection head, going down with the dummy bar to the disconnection roller, the dummy bar clamped by the storage device after separation.
4. Straightening the billet: The pulling straightening process includes unbending, tension straightening to straighten the billet, break the billet scale, which is very important for the subsequent hot rolling and cold rolling processes.
